You could also sign up with some free cell phone directory websites. But the information on these websites are not nearly as good as those that you pay for, precisely because the information on there are those that have been volunteered by their members.

Still, there are reverse lookup companies that purport to provide a free service. But the real score but it’s tough to find ones that really give out free information on the numbers that you are trying to look up. You will inevitably find yourself hopping from one service provider to the other, unlike when you sign up with a premium company and find all the information you’ve been looking for.

With a paid reverse lookup, you would typically be provided with information on the owner of the cell phone number such as the name, address and background information.

I consider myself the foremost historian on life in Greenwich Village in the Fifties and sixties. Many of my younger years were spent observing and enjoying its night life. The students socialized in Washington Square Park and in the many coffee shops scattered around the area. It was a quiet picturesque scene as young people studied, relaxed and chatted in coffee shops and in the park. What made the area stand out most was that it was an inexpensive place for college students to spend their time. On the weekends the coffee shops and parks were full of hundreds of thousands of young students who wanted to experience its lay back atmosphere.

Most people in the early fifties had very narrow sexual views. It was forbidden for a woman to have a sexual affair before marriage and if the neighbors found out that she broke the rules, she was called a tramp. If a woman got herself pregnant without a guy willing to marry her it was a cause for her to commit suicide. On the other end horny young single men were suffering extreme agony with no way to relieve themselves. Most were forced to constantly masturbate while others got quickly married. Occasionally men found a mentally disturbed woman who had sex with the whole neighborhood, but it was difficult to get a date with her. This was the way things were and it is not surprising that people got fed up with those rules. Greenwich Village became the battleground for a more open society where adults could choose the way they had sex and with whom.

Sex starved single guys and gals from all over the nation left their families and jobs and headed eastward to Greenwich Village. And when they met they found sexual freedom in each other. Most were broke and had to share one room with ten others. Some lived on only a few cans of beans a day, but nothing mattered to them but having great sex as often as they pleased. They were young and had unlimited sexual energy.

Poets and writers discovered a marketable opportunity in romanticizing the sex life of the young guys and gals who newly arrived in the village. They called them:” Beatniks” or products of the: “Beat Generation”, But the truth was simple. They were just ordinary young people who wanted a sexual freebie without their parents interfering with their personal life.

This sexual paradise came to an end when the guys and gals realized that they had other needs that were just as important as sexual ones. They slowly went back to their hometowns, families, and jobs. But it was a learning experience for them and it was all worth it. Greenwich Village today has become gentrified, only the elite can afford to live there. But memories of what once took place still remain.

Bumper stickers have always provided a momentary distraction while being stuck in traffic. They can make you laugh, make you mad and make you think. As an advertising medium they have always been used and no more than in the political arena.

It reads “Don’t like my driving? Then quit watching me.”

But you can’t help it. It’s funny and staring you right in the face as you sit at that red light waiting for your evening commute to be over.

Bumper stickers are everywhere from the simple “My child is an honor student” to “My kid beat up your honor student,” from “Clinton finally went to Vietnam” to “Clinton 1996.” Those little rectangular adhesives have been making political, satirical and, often times, off-color remarks for as many years as people have been driving.

However, there is no more effective form of advertising available that is as widespread as well-placed bumper stickers.

Imagine how many miles an average person drives each year. How many cars would that person drive in front of? How many people could that one simple bumper sticker send out your message to?

Bumper sticker advertising guarantees a captive audience for at least a few minutes. With the mind-numbing monotony of the daily commute, there is nothing better than something funny to break that wearing ride to and from work. And with the proper message, those people are highly impressionable - especially for politicians who love captive audiences.

Name recognition is everything in politics. The more times a driver sees a bumper stickers telling him to vote for one particular politician, there’s a likelihood that he may be persuaded that way. Voters need that name recognition to help make their decision.

Bumper stickers can help voters remember since they will likely recall that funny or thought-provoking message by that politician. Even if people don’t know what exactly a candidate stands for, well-placed advertising and name recognition can go a long way at the polls.

And there is no more cost effective way to ensure that name recognition than through bumper sticker advertising. After all, who doesn’t read bumper stickers - whether in traffic or in a parking lot?

With bumper stickers, the expense is minimal and long lasting versus print, radio, television or Internet media where the audience can choose to change from captive to distracted elsewhere.

Politicians use demographics to their advantage, hitting those areas hard where they believe their voters will be. But what about those swing votes or those voters who just aren’t sure? What about those voters who aren’t in the politician’s demographic? How are they going to get the message?

Unlike a television or radio spot that only hits certain demographics, a bumper sticker has a much better chance of hitting more people from more demographics than any other type of advertising. Unlike print or Internet media, bumper sticker advertising doesn’t require a voter or client to pick up a paper or click on a certain link to get your message across.
